a) Kollektivbiographische Untersuchung der Lebensläufe dersozialdemokratischen Parteitagsdelegierten im allgemeinen(vor allem im Hinblick auf berufliche und politischeKarrieremuster) und im Spiegelbild des HamburgerParteitages; b) Inhaltsanalyse der Parteitagsprotokolle undder einschlägigen Artikel in der Presse. Themen: a) allgemeine Lebenslaufvariablen, schulische undberufliche Ausbildung, Positionen der Berufskarriere, Ämterin Politik und in der Arbeiterbewegung (Parteiorganisation,Publizistik, Gewerkschaften, Genossenschaften,Krankenkassen), Verhalten auf dem Parteitag (u.a.Abstimmungsverhalten, Redebeiträge, Antragsstellungen),Modalitäten der Delegierung durch den jeweiligenSPD Reichstagswahlverein; b) Analyse von Anträgen, Handhabungder Geschäftsordnung und Verhandlungsführung, politicalskill der Delegierten, Legitimität von Opposition,Rednerauftritt, -reihenfolge, -liste, und Redezeit,Repräsentation von innerparteilichen Gruppen,Abstimmungsverhalten.

a) Collective biographical investigation of the lives of the delegates to the social democratic party convention in general (in particular in regards to occupational and political career patterns) and as reflected by the party convention in Hamburg. b) Analysis of the contents of the minutes of the party convention and relevant articles in the press. Topics: a) General variables of life, education and professional training, positions in professional career, political offices and offices in the workers´ movement (party organizations, journalism, unions, cooperatives, health insurance companies), behavior at the party convention (voting behavior, speeches, motions made), modalities of delegating by the individual Reichstag election organizations.b) Analysis of motions, handling of points of order and conducting negotiations, delegates´ political skill, opposition´s legitimacy, speakers´ performance, order, list and speaking time, representation of groups within the party, voting behavior.

Quellen: a) systematische Erschließung von gedruckten Quellen: das offizielle (und stark redigierte) Parteitagsprotokoll und zahlreiche sozialdemokratische und bürgerliche Tageszeitungen (sonst wie bei den Projekten BIOKAND und BIOSOP); b) systematische Erschließung archivalischer Quellen: Bestände der Politischen Polizei im Staatsarchiv Hamburg, insbesondere die spezielle reichsweite Befragung der Polizeibehörden zur allen Parteitagsdelegierten und das handschriftliche (unredigierte) Parteitagsprotokoll.
