StEG wird seit 2005 als länderübergreifendes Forschungsprogramm zur Entwicklung von Ganztagsschulen und individuellen Entwicklungen von Schülerinnen und Schülern durchgeführt. Das Projekt findet in enger Absprache mit den Ländern statt und wird durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) finanziert. StEG ist ein Konsortialprojekt des Deutschen Instituts für internationale pädagogische Forschung (DIPF), des Deutschen Jugendinstituts (DJI), des Instituts für Schulentwicklungsforschung (IFS) der technischen Universität Dortmund sowie der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen.
Das StEG Systemmonitoring wurde 2012 und 2015 durchgeführt, um Informationen darüber zu erhalten, wie Ganztagsschulen strukturiert und organisiert sind. Die bundesweit repräsentative Stichprobe liefert einerseits Daten zur aktuellen Ganztagsschullandschaft und zeichnet andererseits ein Bild über die Veränderung der Ganztagsschullandschaft über die Zeit.
Since 2005 StEG has been carried out as a nationwide research program for the development of all-day-schools and individual student trajectories. The research project was implemented in close consultation with the German Bundesländer and was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). StEG is a consortia project of the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF), the German Youth Institute (DJI), the Institute for School Development Research (IFS) at TU Dortmund, and the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (JLU). The StEG sub-project StEG system monitoring was realized in 2012 and 2015 to gain information about the organizational structure of all-day schools. The nation-wide and representative sample provides relevant data about the entirety of the german all-day school system as well as it´s chances over time.
