Die ca. 2000 ´Armutszeugnisse´, die im Zeitraum 1797 bis 1808 verfaßt
worden sind; die ´Armutszeugnisse´ dienten zum Nachweis der
Bedürftigkeit für die Hausarmen der Stadt Köln, sie wurden auf
Verlangen oder wenn eine offizielle Stelle dies für notwendig befand
ausgestellt und berechtigten den Empfänger des Armutszeugnisses zur
Entgegennahme einer Geld- oder Naturalunterstützung.
The approx. 2000 ´poverty certificates´ (in the data set
1678 cleaned cases) recorded in the time interval 1797 to 1808; the
´poverty certificates´ served as proof of need for the ´Hausarmen´ of
the city of Cologne, were issued on request or when an official
position found it necessary and entitled the recipient of the poverty
certificate to receive support in the form of money or food.
