Dataset for: Survey on digital engagement of older adults in Slovenia (J5-2558)

DOI

The dataset contains original data for a wide range of indicators on the digital engagement of older adults in Slovenia. A sample of participants aged 65+ in Slovenia (N=701) was interviewed between 30.09.2021 and 01.12.2021, via a telephone survey (CATI) to ensure that the developed measurement instruments were tested on internet users and non-users, which is particularly crucial for the measurement of proxy internet use (PIU). The questionnaire consists of several thematic sections. First, a section on social capital of older adults is presented, followed by a general part related to the use of mobile phone and internet. Further, internet non-users were asked about their reasons for internet non-use and their engagement in use-by-proxy. Internet users were presented with the Internet Skills Scale, internet uses and outcomes inventories, engagement in proxy use and use-by-proxy, and a series of questions about online privacy concerns. The structure of the survey aimed to provide a comprehensive view of the factors and consequences of digital inequalities in later life.
