Spatial Coverage Spain - IDE assets: Direct investors resident in Spain and direct investment companies of any country except Spain. Subsidiaries resident in Spain with investments in their non-resident parents and resident companies with investments in sister entities of any country except Spain. IDE liabilities: Direct investors of any country and direct investment enterprises resident in Spain. Resident parent companies with investments in their subsidiaries from any country except Spain and resident companies receiving investments from sister companies from any country except Spain. The geographical breakdown is presented both by country of residence of the immediate counterpart (in this case the direct investor will never be a resident) and by the last investing economy, which represents the country of residence of the final investor (could be a resident). An ultimate investor is defined as one that has control in the investment and is not controlled by any other entity.
