Die Absolventenbefragung 2017 erfolgt im Kontext der DZHW-Absolventenstudienreihe, in der anhand von standardisierten Befragungen Informationen zu Studium, Berufseintritt, Berufsverlauf und Weiterqualifizierung von Hochschulabsolvent:innen erfasst werden. Das erste Absolventenpanel wurde 1989 durchgeführt, seitdem wird jeder vierte Absolvent:innenjahrgang (Kohorte) untersucht.
Die Absolventenbefragung 2017 ist das erste Verbundprojekt im Kontext der DZHW-Absolventenstudienreihe. Die Verbundpartner DZHW, INCHER und ISTAT haben das Ziel, Interessen unterschiedlicher Nutzer:innengruppen möglichst umfassend zu berücksichtigen. Hierzu soll ein gemeinsam abgestimmtes und neukonzipiertes Instrument ermöglichen, Fragen sowohl des nationalen Bildungsmonitorings als auch der Hochschulsteuerung und Hochschulforschung zu berücksichtigen (Fabian, Flöther & Reifenberg, 2021).
Thematisch stehen bei der Absolventenbefragung 2017 der Übergang in den Arbeitsmarkt (oder in weitere akademische Qualifikationen) sowie eine erste Arbeitsmarktplatzierung im Mittelpunkt.
Die Erhebung der bundesweit repräsentativen Daten des Abschlussjahrgangs 2017 wird vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) gefördert.
The 2017 graduate survey is conducted in the context of the DZHW graduate study series, which uses standardized surveys to collect information on the studies, career entry, career path and further qualification of university graduates. The first graduate panel was conducted in 1989, and since then every fourth cohort of graduates has been surveyed.
The 2017 graduate survey is the first collaborative project in the context of the DZHW graduate study series. The joint partners DZHW, INCHER, and ISTAT aim to take into account the interests of different user groups as comprehensively as possible. To this end, a jointly coordinated and redesigned instrument is to make it possible to take into account questions of both national education monitoring and higher education management and research (Fabian, Flöther & Reifenberg, 2021).
Thematically, the 2017 graduate survey focuses on the transition to the labor market (or to further academic qualifications) and an initial labor market placement. The collection of nationally representative data on the 2017 graduating class is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

Die Grundgesamtheit der bundesweiten Absolventenbefragung umfasst jene Absolvent:innen, die im Prüfungsjahr 2017 (Wintersemester 2016/2017 und Sommersemester 2017) einen ersten berufsqualifizierenden Hochschulabschluss oder einen
Masterabschluss an einer staatlich anerkannten Hochschule in Deutschland erworben haben (mit Ausnahme der Verwaltungsfachhochschulen und der Hochschulen der Bundeswehr). Darunter fallen alle Bachelor-, Master-, Staatsexamens- und künstlerischen Abschlüsse. Ausgenommen von der Grundgesamtheit sind Personen, die ihr Studium mit einem Diplom- oder Magisterabschluss beendet haben.
Graduate Survey 2017:
The population of the nationwide graduate survey comprises graduates who earned their first professional degree or a master's degree at a state-recognized higher education institution in Germany (with the exception of universities of applied administrative sciences and universities of the German armed forces) in the 2017 examination year (winter semester 2016/2017 and summer semester 2017). This includes all bachelor's, master's, state examination and artistic degrees. Excluded from the basic population are persons who completed their graduated with a diploma or master's degree.
