How Are You, Slovakia?, March / April 2022

DOI

The survey monitors respondents' attitudes towards the war in Ukraine and the reception of refugees from Ukraine, as well as geopolitical orientations and attitudes towards NATO. The survey also includes questions on political preferences, interest in politics, religiosity, preferred sources of information and attitudes towards energy conservation. The survey was conducted at a time when the attack of the Russian Federation troops on Ukraine was ongoing. Russian troops were retreating from the vicinity of Kiev and reports of massacres of Ukrainian civilians were reported by the media. Most of the Western world, as well as the European Union, continued to condemn Russian aggression and to impose new economic sanctions. More than 300 000 war refugees from the territory of Ukraine had already arrived in Slovakia. The coronavirus epidemic in Slovakia was stabilized during this period, with the spread of the omicron variant, the severity of the disease decreased, but the daily increments as well as the number of hospital admissions remained at relatively high levels. The research is the fourteenth in the „How are you, Slovakia?“ survey series.
